  1. 1) Tell what you liked or did not like so far about the book.

So far I have not enjoyed the constant negative events, and poor resolutions,

    2) Ask a question or make a prediction.

I predict that the book will not end with a happy ending, instead, end sadly/negatively.

    3) Provide a quote from the book, and explain why you choose it.
"I forgive him" I chose this quote as it shows how forgiving Junior's Grandmother is, even when she is on her deathbed. It is clear that Junior lost a very kind, caring, and significant person in his life.

    1. I think that Junior will continue to undergo hardships but overall will have a happy ending and become friends with Rowdy again. I also think your quote is very important to the storyline.

  4. 1) Tell what you liked or did not like so far about the book.
So far the book has been interesting and different from the kind of book I have read before. I was still able to predict most of the plot and knew that as the underddog he would keep going through struggles.

    2) Ask a question or make a prediction.
He will for sure go through more things that will make him even more sad and depressed which is obvious because of the last few chapters of the book.

    3) Provide a quote from the book, and explain why you choose it.
"You can do it" I chose this quote becuse it shows us that Junior's coach really had faith in him and that he knew he could succeed

  5. Week 4
So far in the book I have enjoyed how all of the characters have continued to develop. I also have enjoyed that the pace has been speeding up and learning about Junior's internal struggles. The thing I really dislike is the childish humor and jokes, as I don't think that they add anything to the story. I think that Junior will undergo one more big hardship before the end of the book, which will change his life. A quote that I think is very important is as follows. "I suddenly wanted to apologize to Rowdy, to all of the other Spokanes." This quote from page 196 is important because it shows after the elation he felt when beating Wellpinit in the basketball match, he still cares for his own people. Overall, I think the book has gotten better, and I am looking forward to the ending.

  6. 1) Tell what you liked or did not like so far about the book.
In this section of the book, I liked this one alot more because instead of the reoccuring events constantly happening, there were many new situations, especially in Juniors life, and there were many new problems and things that affected him, which added more detail and more excitement to the storyline, as it was a peak in his life where things started to drop- which showed a new side of him, and a new side of his personality and he dealt with these types of situations in his life, it really made me predict about new events that will occur in the future, and makes me wonder how the book will end up trying together.

    2) Ask a question or make a prediction.
I wonder how the book will tie up in the end, and if Junior will become stronger from his situations now, and how the events all tie together, and if there is anymore new character development,or situation development from the previous problems before.

    3) Provide a quote from the book, and explain why you choose it.
"If you care about something enough you will cry" I chose this quote because I believe it has great signifigance to the story right now, as Junior is going through lots of grief, struggles, and pain, he's only going through this because he cares about the people he's lost, and that is why he cries. He is a very emotional, and sensitive person because he cares about things, and that quote is really important to not only the truth, but also the truth in what is happening in the story right now.

  7. Now that we are nearing the end of the book the pace is starting to quicken and it is becoming more enjoyable. A larger variety of events have started to occur and I am starting to get more engaged. Since this happened, roles have been easier to do and group discussions have become more interesting. Everything that Junior is going through, it has taught us about the character is which makes is easier to connect to. I think that Junior wil continue to go through hardships and maybe even loose more close family/friends. With only one section left of the book, I don't think anything will continue to get easier as it will be too rushed. I want to know how the book ends and how Junior continues to go through his hard times. "I'd never guessed I'd be a good basketball player." I chose this quote because it shows that Junior has been through a lot with people and it has lead him to second guess and doutb himself. He didn't have much confidence but he would still try anyways. I think this shows us a lot about the character Junior is.

  8. 1) tell what you liked or did not like so far about the book
So far in the novel, I have not really enjoyed the storyline. There are only parts of the story that have good action in it, like the basketball game at his new school. Otherwise it is a very boring book and I don't want to keep reading it. Although there were new events in Juniors life, like his grandma dying. That was a big part of the book because Junior really loved his grandma and they always talked to each other. Since she died, he's had to do things by himself and problem solve by himself. This changed him and showed a new side to this character.

    2) Ask a question or make a prediction
Will Junior move back to the reserve with his family and friends, or is he permanently staying and making new friends at his new school?
I also think people are going to start looking up to Junior and they will want to be like him. I think something big is going to happen to Junior towards the end of the novel and the school kids are going to see that, and it's going to change their perspective of him even more.

    3) Provide a quote from the book, and explain why you chose it
"you can do it" (pg. 189)
I chose this quote because it has a huge impact on Junior. At first he was telling his coach that he didn't want to/couldn't do it. But then the coach started encouraging him and saying that he could do it. He was nervous about his basketball game at first, but now he built up the courage to go out on the court and play. This shows how much of an impact teachers/coaches have on your life just by what they say to you.
